Greg Mikulan

My family moved from England to the Bay Area in the 1960's. After graduating from high school, I joined the  Army and was a tank driver in Germany. I returned to the States after my tour and attended Sonoma State where I received my BA in business. While living in the SOMA district of San Francisco, I began experimenting with oil painting and became passionate about painting.

Always the dreamer and observer, I drew inspiration from the rich nightlife of the Bay Area...  watching the Germs and Dead Kennedy's at the Mabuhay in the 70's, drinking at the Black Rose and Hotel Utah, the bands at the Night Break bar in the Haight.
